EU support

The increased migration of labour force, modernized production equipment, new installed technologies increase the need for the qualified employees. Therefore, making use of the EU support, a great opportunity for improving the competitiveness of the company occurred.

6 March 2006 the Association “Lietuvos mediena”, the Ministry of Social Security and Labour and the Social Foundation European Social Fund Agency concluded a support grant agreement for the project entitled “Professional Development of the Employees of Industrial Establishments”, drafted in compliance with the Measure 2.2 “Development of Labour Force Competencies and the Ability to Adapt to Changes” of Priority II “Development of Human Recourses” of the Single Programming Document (SPD) of Lithuania for 2004-2006. Vilniaus Baldai AB participates in the considered project as a partner on the grounds of the joint activity contract together with the other eleven members of the Association. The total amount of the project expenses is 8,034,561 LTL. The recourses of the Support Foundation constitute 4,706,646 LTL and the remaining part, namely 3,327,915 LTL, consists of the own funds of the project partners.

The value of the project of Vilniaus Baldai AB is 2,167,725 LTL. The intensity of the support reaches 60 per cent and the remaining part consists of the company recourses. This is the expenditure of the wages of the training participants incurred during the training courses.

The principal objective of the Project is to develop the occupational qualification, raise the level of knowledge and general and special aptitudes of the employees of Vilniaus Baldai AB by means of fulfilling the current requirement of the company towards the labour force.
