SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Vilniaus Baldai, AB has implemented and periodically certifies the Quality, Environmental Protection and FSC Production Management System in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and FSC® (FSC-C104209) standards. We also listen to the customer's environmental, social and working condition requirements when purchasing products, raw materials and services.
The FSC (FSC-C104209) Chain of Custody (CoC) system implemented is the path of the product from the forest or (in the case of secondary raw materials) from the moment of its processing to the point where it is sold with the FSC® label and/or finished and manufactured and labeled with the FSC® label.
Every year we set environmental goals that help us protect the environment better and more efficiently, for example, economical use of energy resources and raw materials, waste sorting and recycling, and constant improvement of the working environment. In all production and administrative premises, we have containers for sorting waste-everyone is involved and we use different means to constantly strengthen the responsible attitude within the company.
Together with IKEA, we are carrying out a joint project by which we undertake to use energy efficiently in the entire territory owned by the Company and in all the Company's activities
The energy efficiency policy provides for:
- create, implement, maintain and improve the Company's ENVS;
- strive for the Company's ENVS to meet the requirements of ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems and instructions for use, as well as other technical and legal requirements and the Company's contractual requirements;
- obligations;
- create and implement processes that promote continuous improvement of energy efficiency;
- to form a culture of energy efficiency improvement.
- allocate appropriate human and financial resources to create, implement, maintain and improve ENVS;
- apply the "Plan-Do-Check-Act" (PDTV) cycle of actions that would help to systematically and continuously improve ENVS;
- continuously improve employees' knowledge and skills of efficient energy use through regular training, including efficient energy use in employee education plans;
- involve our employees in ENVS system maintenance and continuous energy efficiency improvement through KAIZEN and/or other programs;
- determine Energy Efficiency Indicators (EER), carry out their regular monitoring and updating, using EER to monitor and analyze the Company's energy consumption;
- implement electricity consumption monitoring and analysis solutions that will allow monitoring the entire company's electricity network, control the operation of electrical equipment and reduce electricity costs accordingly;
- to create an energy efficiency control system.
Heat production
Since 2018, we At the beginning of the year, we became an independent heat producer, which produces and supplies heat energy from renewable energy sources to the centralized heat networks of the city of Vilnius. A new UNICONFORT (Italy) 5 MW biofuel boiler with an economizer and an efficient smoke cleaning system has been installed in the company's boiler room. The main fuel is sawdust, a by-product of production.
Our subsidiary Ari-Lux, UAB employs people who have lost their professional and general work capacity, are economically inactive, unable to compete in the labour market on equal terms, and encourages their return to the labour market and their social integration in order to reduce social exclusion and develop labour and social skills of people with limited work capacity. We have unofficially made our subsidiary a non-profit enterprise and we strive to meet the needs of its employees as much as possible by properly adapting the workplaces and enabling them to work according to their potential.
